About

Learn. Grow. Thrive.

Rachel specializes in working with teens and their families as well as young adults and women. For her teen clients, Rachel collaborates and works closely with parents/guardians to address their concerns and facilitate healthy communication and expectations. Common concerns among many of the teens she cares for include anxiety, depression, self harm and suicidal thoughts as well as feelings of inadequacy and low self-esteem. Rachel also enjoys working with young adults as they transition from school to work life, establish healthy boundaries in their relationships, and learn to take care of their mental health. Outside of her teen and young adult clients, Rachel is passionate about helping women experiencing issues such as relationship heartache, domestic violence, sexual disfunction, infertility, and struggling with their work life balance. Rachel uses Person Centered Therapy alongside different therapeutic tools such as talk therapy, creative arts therapy, and activity therapy specialized to each client. Teens naturally have difficulty trusting authority figures, so she strives to build rapport and trust, creating a safe space for them to process difficult emotions and be themselves. Young adults also enjoy meeting with Rachel because of her down to earth and relatable nature. Her goal is that every client she encounters feels heard and cared for, and that they're equipped with the coping skill necessary to succeed outside of therapy. Her kind and down to earth spirit creates a warm and accepting environment for her clients to process their struggles without fear of judgement, no matter what they're going through. Rachel graduated from Appalachian State University in North Carolina with a Bachelors in Public Health. She later received her Masters in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary and is Licensed as a Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas, supervised by Josh Freeman. In her free time, she loves spending quality time with friends over some iced coffee, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and Irish Golden puppy, Penny. Rachel has volunteered in her local church for many years in the youth and young adult ministries, giving her great insight and experience caring for these age groups. If you are unsure whether to book an appointment with Rachel, she encourages individuals to schedule a free consultation to see if they would be a good fit and enjoy working with her. As an Associate, Rachel is under supervision and is supervised by Josh Freeman, LPCS.
